14 Month Old With Eczema

Hi,

My 14 month old has eczema on his chin (really bad) and a few spots on the back of his legs. He used to have it on his cheeks, but that seems much better.

I was told to use hydrocortisone 2xs a day to treat it. I actually asked the doctor about the warnings I heard about and read with the cream, but was told that the low % sold over the counter wouldn't do that so to keep using it.

Recently, I was just told by an allergist I took my boy to, that it in fact does cause harm! Thankfully, I've never used it for a prolonged period of time anyway, but I have been using it for several months off and on.

So my question is how do I know if any damage was caused internally or externally? How long do you have to be using the cream before these side effects set in?

Thank you.

Hello,

First let me say that I am so pleased that you did not use the steroid cream for a prolonged period of time and that you have stopped using hydrocortisone on your young son. Steroid and hydrocortisone creams of any % concentration carry risks and side effects with them! For our website viewers I will explain that these side effects can include: thinning and discoloration of the skin, easy bruising, permanent dilation of certain blood vessels, burn marks on skin, liver and kidney damage and a weakened immune system. Rather than focusing on whether he will show signs of damage in the years to come, we will talk about how to rebuild the integrity and balance of his skin while repairing his skin 7 layers deep with health building ingredients.

You mentioned that the skin on his chin has very bad eczema and there are a few spots on the back of his legs so here is the following recommendation I will give you for the proper care and treatment that is natural and long lasting. First, bath your son with our FACE & BODY WASH which is a specially formulated mild cleanser that contains only herbal ingredients that are organically grown and hypo-allergenic and safe enough for baby's skin. This will begin to add moisture to his skin and soothe the skin layers. After bathing, gently pat his skin dry with a soft towel.

Then gently apply our FACE & NECK THERACREAM as this is extremely important for his eczema treatment. This specially formulated cream will stop any itching while repairing and bringing balance back to his skin - restoring the normal function of the skin instead of just placating the symptoms. You can also use this cream on the few spots he has on the back of his legs. Remember that the most effective, specially formulated products are plant based, have a very rich emollient level and are loaded with nutrients.

At first, you can even add a bit of sterile water to his first few applications to thin the cream somewhat and gradually add less water until you are applying full strength. This cream is very soothing and will quickly reduce any redness and inflammation.

Please feel free to contact me with any other questions you may have and let me know how your little boy is progressing.

Warm Regards,
Nanette
