Burn Marks From Using Aldara Cream On Genital Area

My doctor put me on Aldara cream thinking I had genital warts before doing any testing. I used the cream and now have sores and burn marks on my penis that just won't go away. I then found out after testing that I never had any STD at all. Do you have any recommendations to heal up this area? I've been using tea tree oil. Any suggestions?

Hello Bob,

First, let me express my heartfelt compassion to you regarding your situation. It always appalls me to hear when patients are not given the proper testing or warned of the harmful side effects of prescribed drugs and creams. Aldara Cream is an immune response modifier for topical administration and is indicated for the topical treatment of ONLY biopsy-confirmed conditions. You mentioned tea tree oil, however, this is a very potent oil that should not be applied directly to the skin, especially on any open or cracked skin.

I highly recommend the following products to repair the skin tissue in this very sensitive area:

Daily cleansing of the affected area is very important. Wash with our FACE & BODY WASH which is a hypo-allergenic "non-soap" wash that helps the process of washing the damaged cells from the skin while providing an anti bacterial cleansing. This is important in order to begin the healing process.
