Caring For
Dry Knees And Elbows!

Dry knees and elbows can really hurt! After all, they take a lot of abuse. Over time, the skin thickens and becomes scaly, cracked and this can be quite uncomfortable. Add to this serious conditions of psoriasis, eczema and dermatitis and the problem becomes compounded.

My name is Nanette and I am here to guide you in what to do for dry knees and elbows. As a practicing Herbalogist, I tell my clients that skin on any part of your body that bends and stretches repeatedly, such as the knees and elbows, will need special care when skin problems erupt.

After all, these parts get leaned on quite a bit, which can certainly add to the problem.

Dry Knees & Elbows Need Special Care! I often get asked, "What should I use?" My answer to this includes people with psoriasis, dry patches, dry spots and itchy skin syndrome.

First, wash with only with a "non-soap" cleanser that is pure and gentle. It should be hypo-allergenic and contain only herbal ingredients that are organically grown. This will begin to unpack the dry scales, and start the moisturization process.

Vitamin-derived antioxidants from plant sourced ingredients not only make the best ingredients for your "inside", but for your "outside" as well. A pure and gentle cleanser is just right for all skin types, conditions and ages and will begin to bring balance back to the skin.

Next, you need a rich, therapeutic cream that MUST be able to reach the deepest layers of thick skin. It should definitely NOT contain MINERAL OIL or PETROLEUM as these will clog your pores and suffocate the skin. Unfortunately, 8 products out of 10 contain these harmful, inert ingredients.

You see, when dry, cracked, split skin becomes hardened and seemingly impenetrable-such as on the elbows, knees, feet, ears and scalp, a repairative formula must go down into the 7 layers of the skin to thoroughly "unpack" dead cells and replenish much needed moisture.

It must also provide anti-itch properties as well as anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties to prevent infection.

A therapeutic cream should contain shea butter , urea and valuable vitamins and herbal botanicals in order to deeply hydrate these damaged areas.

1) Urea has been medically proven in various clinical studies to have extraordinary anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties that help promote fast healing of dry, cracked, split skin, eczema, psoriasis, rashes, acne and other types of problem skin.

2) Urea has been proven to heal serious wounds and burns without any scarring. Further studies have shown that it also has anti-itch properties that have a very rapid effect on problematic red itchy dry knees and elbows.

3) Urea replenishes the water content of the skin because it binds hydrogen and attracts moisture in a way that no mineral oil or glycerine-based lotions or creams can.

I tell my customers that the great results they experience from using just the right ingredients is because of re-established balance to the skin's processes of exfolliation and re-building.

Unfortunately, so many products today actually hinder this process instead of facilitate it.

Letter to Nanette:

When I came to see you, I had been going to dermatologists for 15 years and had spent countless dollars on prescription creams such as hydrocortizone and steroids that could NOT help the heavy psoriasis I had all over my knees and elbows. With your recommendation, my elbows are now 90% healed and my knees are 80% healed. I am happily amazed at the fast and effective results your advice has given me! Thank you! R.P.,Los Angeles, CA
