Hi, Nanette
My name is Karen and I am 25 years old. I was diagnosed with eczema, along with food and pet allergies at a very young age. In the past few years, and especially the past few months, my skin symptoms have grown much worse. I have dry itchy patches of skin all over my arms, scalp, neck, and behind my ears. The most irritating of the symptoms, however, is the burning, itching, and redness in my face. I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin. Some days, my face is dry but tolerable, and other days the pain is unbearable. I have tried every cream, allergy medicine, and face wash on the market. Some things do nothing, some things help for a very short period of time. I cannot put in to words how painful my condition is, and what a huge insecurity it is for me. There are several days when even getting in the shower or washing my face is painful because the water (whether warm or cool) causes such a painful burning sensation. I'm not sure where to start, but any help or advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Karen
