Hello Nanette,

I urgently need some help as to which products might be helpful in giving some relief to my very serious Hailey-Hailey disease flare up. I have severe itching and it's extremely stressful to me. Can you please provide me with any suggestions or advice both externally and internally?

Hello Sharon,

Please take courage. For our website viewers I will say that Hailey-Hailey disease, also known as familial benign chronic pemphigus, is a genetic disorder inherited among family members with a 50% chance of inheritance from an affected parent. It is most common in the late teenage years, twenties and thirties. Lesions are most commonly seen in the sides of the neck, armpit, and groin areas and under the breast accompanied by heavy odor and itching. The lesions may be localized to an area or may become widespread.
Complications of Hailey-Hailey disease include risk of secondary bacterial, fungal, and viral infections, which may require anti-microbial agents.

My suggestions that I will share with you will include both internal as well as external recommendations in order to build your health inside as well as outside.

1) Wash only with a hypo-allergenic and gentle wash which contains absolutely no chemicals or ingredients that can be toxic to the skin.
