Hair Knots

by Sarah
(Sydney, Australia )

I just came across this site, looks great.

I'm curious about something, my hair is usually dry I do apply oil here and there besides this I have noticed that a single strand of hair has a knot. A few of my hairs had this, I thought it was weird. I don't have split ends just dry hair, when I run my finger on a single strand it feels rough.

Though what creates single stand knots? Is it the dryness? Any tips?

Hi Sarah,

It certainly sounds like you have a fairly bad case of hair dryness. I'm guessing that your hair length is at least past your shoulders which presents even more of a challenge for your hair to receive moisture from your scalp area. Having hair down the middle of my back, I know what a challenge it can be to keep it soft and healthy looking.

You'll want to stay away from any product for your hair that contains: mineral oil, DEA, DMDM hydantoin, fragrance, alcohol (this one is VERY DRYING on scalp and skin!!), phthlates, sodium lauryl sulfate, betaine and parabens. These chemicals wreak so much havoc on our hair not to mention the scalp and our health as well.

Use only a natural and organic herbal filled shampoo formulated specifically to "moisturize" the hair. When the hair is dry, the number one thing it needs is "moisture" and not oil. Our HERBAL SHAMPOO TREATMENT contains strong humectants that will replace your hairs much needed moisture all the way down to the hair shaft. This will replace dry, brittle, knot prone hair with soft, pliable and shiny hair that we all want and love. Your scalp will thank you too as it is also restored to a more healthy balance.

Let me know how it goes and of course, do your best to also follow the guidelines contained on our " Dry Hair Can Be Repaired" page.

Warm Regards,
Nanette
