Hydrocortisone Use On My Face - HELP!

by Maria
(Wisconsin)

Hi Nanette,

I recently had a chemical peel done in a doctor's office, and I misused the hydrocortisone gel cream they made me purchase. It was supposed to be applied for a maximum of 5 days, but I mistakenly used it for 12 days (as a result of VERY poor communication on the part of the secretary who gave me the home care kit containing the cream in question).

My worry is that I have thinned out my skin; and the worst is that I applied the gel cream on the under eye area as well, seeing as how it was to be mixed with a neutral moisturizer. I feel so stupid.... :-(

How do I know/can I tell if my overuse has caused thinning of the skin (esp. in the under eye area) or other damage?

Your advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you very much in advance!
Maria :-)

Hello Maria,

The side effects of using hydrocortisone can be apparent very quickly for some and over time for others. The facial area is especially susceptible to damage from steroid creams due to the fact that the skin here is some of the thinnest on the body. In addition to the fact that you just had a chemical peel which in and of itself is quite traumatic to the skin.

I would highly recommend using our FACE & BODY WASH and our FACE & NECK THERACREAM which will both help to repair and restore your skin in a health building way thereby bringing back balance and tissue strength. The ingredients in these products will help to rapidly heal the facial skin 7 layers deep. Don't despair....the body truly responds to natural ingredients.

Please keep me posted on your progress Maria.

Warm Regards,
Nanette
