Hypopigmentation Due to Hydrocortisone

by Mia
(Canada)

Dear Nanette,

My name is Mia. I'm 19 years old, female. A while ago I got this itchy, dry, rashey patch on both sides of my mouth and around my chin. I went to my doctor and she prescribed me Hydrocortisone 1%. I used it, and a now a few weeks later, I have these two light patches confined near the corner of my mouth. They are not completely white, seems like just the upper layers are. I recently read that hydrocortisone can discolor the skin. I have stopped it immediately. Please help me, what can I do to get rid of it? Is this discoloration permanent? Will I have to take it with me to the grave? I have stopped using everything and only use soft, chlorine free water to wash my skin. Please, please help me? Thank you so much..

Response To Hypo-Pigmentation Due To Hydrocortisone
by: Nanette from Skin-Remedies.com

Hi Mia,

Unfortunately, the side effect of hypo-pigmentation you are experiencing from using hydrocortisone cream is not uncommon. I truly wish that doctors would read off the (long) list of side effects that can result from using steroid creams. I am sure people would strongly consider using alternate, hopefully healthy, remedies.

Rest assured that the body has great capabilities to restore, repair and replenish given the proper ingredients. Natural, health building ingredients provide the skin with the components it needs to bring the skin layers back to a balanced state, including skin tone problems such as yours.

I recommend two of our products that will work synergistically to penetrate the 7 layers of skin and restore normal function to those areas around your mouth that you spoke of. First cleanse your face with our FACE & BODY MOISTURIZING WASH twice daily to remove daily environmental debris as well as dead cells and excess oils. Next, apply a light coat of our FACE & NECK THERACREAM twice daily after cleansing. This cream will penetrate the 7 layers of skin and restore and repair deep down from the bottom up. Both of these products are loaded with essential nutrients needed for skin repair and bring skin back to a healthy state.

Please keep me posted on your progress Mia and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Warm Regards,
Nanette

I will purchase your products ASAP, I can't wait to start using them!!!!!!!!! Also, how long do you believe it will take for the discoloration to disappear?
