Lichen Planus

I was diagnosed with Lichen Planus almost 2 years ago. I have been on all kinds of creams and finally given Soriatane for seven months. It and going off blood thinners almost cleared up all the sores but I have a continual stinging and burning of the skin. Do you have any suggestions?

Hello Sandra,
I'm not sure if your prescribing doctor has told you just how dangerous Soriatane is and that using it for 7 months is an unbelievably long time for a drug that harsh. For our website viewers, I must explain that Soriatane is a retinoid drug and must NOT be used by females who are pregnant, or who intend to become pregnant during therapy or at any time for at least 3 years following discontinuation of therapy. During clinical trials with Soriatane, 98% of subjects reported 3545 adverse effects involving the mucous membranes, skin and nervous system.
Other side effects include: stroke, dry mouth, lips, dry irritated eyes, hair loss, runny nose, thinning, peeling, or scaling of skin, weak nails, rash, hives, itching, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue, back or joint pain or stiffness, blurred vision, bone pain, calf or leg pain, chest pain, eye pain, loss of appetite, mood changes, muscle pain, stiffness, or weakness, numbness, or tingling of the hands or feet, blistered, burning or stinging skin, severe dizziness, severe or persistent headache, persistent stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, shortness of breath, high blood sugar, slurred speech, vaginal itching, odor, discharge, and yellowing of the skin or eyes.

Here are my full recommendations to help your entire body recover not only from the Lichen Planus but from the extended usage of Soriatane.
