Lichen Sclerosus

Hi Nanette,

Are you familiar with lichen sclerosus (LS)? I have it in the vulva area. Symptoms are large patches of white skin, fusing of the 2 labias together, red inflammation, plus some areas are very tender, sore and sometimes itchy. I do not want to use a steroid to control pain and itching as it thins the skin and causes more problems. For 2 months I have been on a strict anti-candida and anti-fungus diet which showed up in my live blood cell analysis. Emu oil provides some relief but no cure. Bio-identical, compounded estradiol is producing no changes. If anything, everything is accelerating. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Merrilee,

Unfortunately, science does not know the exact cause of lichen sclerosus. Some think a too active immune system and hormone problems may play a role. It is also thought that people inherit the likelihood of getting the disease.

I am glad that you are looking for an alternative program to help remedy this condition as opposed to the traditional methods of steroids, injections and surgery.

I have several recommendations which I list below. Know that the body has a remarkable ability to heal, repair and regenerate once given the proper tools to do so.

1) Wash the affected area with a hypo-allergenic and gentle body wash which contains absolutely no chemicals or ingredients that can be toxic to the skin. Our FACE & BODY WASH will provide this type of purity and will begin the repair process.
