Long Time Steroid User Needs Help!

Hello Nanette,

I just received my order of the TheraCream and Body Wash and am very excited! I have been a very long time steroid cream user and unfortunately have been using it at my discretion without any guidance (over 10 years) The doctor had prescribed me a very potent one which I had been using in the groin area for what I "thought" was psoriasis. Like many people, I have been so blind to the negative effects of these steroids, but have been off of them for a month now and will not go back. Needless to say, the rebound effect in that sensitive area has been huge, as well as looking like my skin has been burned and bright red. I am so used to instant gratification because of the steroid creams usual response but I know I need to be patient. My question is: Is it possible for this to take quite some time to heal? I have been using the TheraCream for 3 days now with very slight improvement. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello,

First, please feel encouraged! Based on the great success experienced by so many others with similar situations that have used our products, you can and should expect great results. It saddens me to think that the medical profession is not monitoring the prescribing of harsh and damaging steroid creams to unsuspecting patients. To use steroid cream for such a great length of time can certainly devastate the body and cause a tremendous "rebound effect" when steroid use is stopped. When switching to natural remedies, patience and consistency are very important. Tissue is being repaired and restored 7 layers deep and to do this may take time, especially if there has been a number of years of toxic absorption. You see, since the body has a great propensity to repair given the proper ingredients, it will respond positively much as when we intake wholesome foods.

Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns and keep me posted on your progress.

Warm Regards,
Nanette

Steroid User
by: Anonymous

Hey there...I'm 17 years old and I've been using Advantan Ointment for over 3 years around my mouth area. I tried to get off it and the withdrawal symptoms are TERRIBLE (severe dryness and itchiness, darkening of skin, bumps, and a whole lot of other unpleasant stuff)...and it's on my face (so you can imagine the embarrassment). So I started using it again..I'd really appreciate it if you can recommend something that I can use around my mouth area that will help me. I really don't want to be on these steroids forever =( thanks for your time...:-)

Hello,

First, don?t despair as given the right ingredients, the skin has the capability of restoration. You should know that the active ingredient in Advantan Ointment belongs to the group of medicines called corticosteroids and as such can have serious side effects. These side effects can include itching, burning, redness (erythema), or blistering (vesiculation) in the area of the skin ailment, skin becoming thinner, the appearance of a network of tiny blood vessels, pink/purple "stretch marks" and acne like appearance of the skin, hair follicle inflammation (folliculitis), excessive hair growth (hypertrichosis), and perioral dermatitis (break out around the mouth).

Here is what I recommend you use for your symptoms: First, what you wash with is so very important and I can't emphasize this enough. Many products on the market today are loaded with harsh, drying ingredients that strip the natural PH of your skin leaving it further vulnerable to the effects of product chemicals, sun, wind and environmental air. Use our gentle and pure FACE & BODY WASH that will deeply cleanse your skin and begin repairing your skin even before you apply cream.

Next you will want to apply our FACE & NECK THERACREAM twice daily focusing the area around the mouth and lips. This hypo-allergenic cream penetrates all 7 layers of skin to unpack dry, damaged cells and relieves inflammation and pustule build up(if any) and restores much needed moisture from the bottom up to the very skin surface helping to restore balance. Both of these products are formulated with skin nurturing ingredients that repair, restore and replenish natural moisture levels in the skin.

Please keep me posted on your progress.

Warm Regards,
Nanette

topical steroid cream withdrawal
by: Peter

Having seen my wife suffer from Atopic Dermatitis for as long as I have known her, I can sympathize very strongly with sufferers. My wife is currently withdrawing from its use after 10 years of daily full body topical steroid cream coverage. The side effects of the first month of withdrawal have been been shocking to watch but now the bad times seem to be over. The side effects of withdrawal are extreme facial swelling, redness and unbelievable skin defoliation on her face. It goes in cycles. Please read Clinical Professor of Dermatology Dr Rapaport's medical paper on the withdrawal. This will help you a lot. After one month, my wife has a long way to go with the withdrawal but her skin is already much thicker. There's not much help from the dermatologists on this one. Good luck.
