Pregnant With Bad Eyelids - Dermatitis

Hi,

Some 12 months ago my eyelids became very dry and sore. I used a very basic moisturizer from the chemist and it went away. It came back about four months ago but the cream didn't work. The eyelids got worse and puffed up so much that I couldn't see. I was given a low potency cortizone cream and it went away. A few weeks later it came back. A dermatologist gave me a stronger potency cream - Eleuphrat 0.05%. it went away and now some weeks later it's back again. I'm also 6 weeks pregnant. I don't want to keep using the cream, I know it's bad for my skin, it jut masks and doesn't fix and I'm worried about what to use when pregnant. Please help me. Wendy Armstrong.

Hello Wendy,

What you are experiencing from steroid use is called the "rebound effect" where the condition comes back and many times the symptoms are worsened. You should also know that using any type of steroid cream can produce side effects such as thinning and discoloration of the skin, easy bruising, permanent dilation of certain blood vessels, burn marks on skin, liver and kidney damage and a weakened immune system. Recent studies further reveal changes in the shape or location of body fat (especially in your face, neck, back, and waist), increased acne or facial hair, menstrual problems and impotence. So it is very wise that you have stopped using these steroid creams and wiser yet since you are now pregnant!

Further, most over the counter products can actually increase the skin's dryness levels because they contain mineral oil or other petroleum based by products. These ingredients have NO usefulness to the skin nutritionally and in fact, the molecules are too large to even pass the pores of the skin so the cream just sits on top and literally suffocates these pores thereby causing further dryness and damage.

I have two very natural and deep penetrating products that I highly recommend to you. Use them daily! First, what you wash with is so very important and I can't emphasize this enough. The majority of products on the market today are loaded with harsh, drying ingredients that strip the natural PH of your skin leaving it further vulnerable to the effects of the environment. Use our gentle and pure FACE & BODY WASH that will deeply cleanse and moisturize your skin even before you apply cream. This is an important feature since your cleanser should leave you with a plus moisture level and not a minus moisture level!

Next you will want to apply our FACE & NECK THERACREAM twice daily focusing on the upper and lower eyelid areas (it would also be beneficial to apply the cream on the entire face). This rich cream penetrates all 7 layers of skin to restore much needed moisture from the bottom up to the very skin surface. The dryness symptoms will dissipate as balance begins to be restored. Both of these products are formulated with skin nurturing ingredients that repair, restore and replenish natural moisture levels in the skin.

Please keep me posted on your progress Wendy as you begin your new regimen.

Warm Regards,
Nanette
