Severe Cortisone Skin Burn

Is there any way to repair severe damage caused by over use of coritsone? The skin has thinned out drastically and the WHOLE calf area looks like a bruise. I used the cream prescribed by a doctor for varicose veins and now it's done more damage than good. Can it be repaired?

Response To Severe Cortisone Skin Burn
by: Nanette From Skin-Remedies.com

Hello,

Over use of cortisone cream is quite prevalent and many doctors continue to prescribe stronger and stronger steroid creams to their patients and many times over the course of a number of years. I had one client who had been to her dermatologist for over 25 years for the same skin problem and was NO BETTER!!

You must know that cortisone and hydrocortisone are in the corticosteroids class of drugs, often used as an anti inflammatory to reduce inflammation and suppression of immune system action. Because of these steroids' adverse side effects, you usually are only permitted to use them for a short time. Side effects include: thinning and discoloration of the skin, easy bruising, permanent dilation of certain blood vessels, burn marks on skin, liver and kidney damage and a weakened immune system. It is wise to avoid them as much as possible.

Take heart though, for the skin does have the capability to be repaired and restored given the right ingredients and as long as you refrain from applying any more steroid cream to the area. Here is my strong recommendation to help your skin recover.

Wash only with a hypo-allergenic and gentle wash which contains absolutely no chemicals or ingredients that can be toxic to the skin. Our FACE & BODY WASH will provide this type of purity and will help bring your skin in balance. Then apply our MY DAUGHTER'S HAND & BODY THERACREAM which is a deep penetrating cream which will penetrate the 7 layers of skin and will promote optimal functioning of the skin processes. It will reduce inflammation and add much needed moisture as well as the vital health building ingredients necessary for repairing the skin. Consistency and patience will be needed to help your skin steadily gain back its thickness and strength.

Please keep me posted on your progress.

Warm Regards,
Nanette
