Did you know that your cell phone could be riddled with germs and bacteria that can cause skin infections. My name is Nanette and as a practicing Herbalogist, I have seen a number of conditions that have been caused by cell phones.
In an informal, on-the-street test, 110 phones were put through the "germ meter" test, which counted the number of bacteria on the phones. Sixty per cent of the phones failed that test, meaning they had thousands of types of bacteria.
This isn't necessarily a problem so long as they all come from your own skin. Once you start sharing a cell phone, germs can really spread and cause a skin infection or contact dermatitis.
I tell my clients, “Don't dismay!” There are some precautions you can follow.
1) Wash your hands after using your cell with an anti-bacterial cleanser
that will cleanse any bacteria or germ yet it should be gentle enough to use on a baby.
2) Next, apply an anti-bacterial hand cream
to stave off any possibility of germs lingering on your hands. Carry it along wherever you go so that you have its anti-microbial properties available and your hands will remain germ free.
3) Take a disinfectant wipe and rub any surface of your cell phone that might come in contact with your skin, making sure you get into the nooks and crannies. But, whatever you do, don't spray it with cleaner: those microscopic electronics inside don't generally like being misted with conductive liquids.
4) Additionally, you could always use an ear piece or BlueTooth headset, or just keep the cell phone away from your cheeks entirely.
5) Finally, try to resist sharing your or someone else's cell phone.
Since germs can be spread very easily, it is especially important to use only products that are antibacterial, antimicrobial and antifungal in nature. They not only promote healthy skin but keep germs away.
This can go a long way in the care and condition of your skin and in avoiding skin infections.
When I called you I was frantic. I had accidentally gouged a piece of flesh from my hand and it was oozing pus and I was afraid I might get a skin infection from it. You told me how the natural products you recommend will keep it clean from bacteria as well as protected from infection. Your advice worked great and the healing time was quite a bit faster.
