Hello,

I have hair loss on the top of my head that continues every day!! I was thinking about Rogaine when I read about how you should only use natural products on your scalp....what are your thoughts about using Rogaine? Thanks!

Hello Samuel,

First, for our website viewers, let me explain that Rogaine (generic name minoxidil) is a medicated (drug) solution used to treat baldness or hair loss. It?s not clear how Rogaine works. One theory is that it opens up the blood vessels and stimulates the hair follicles with increased blood flow. It may work better on the top and back of the scalp than it does on the front or sides. To maintain new hair growth, you must continue to use Rogaine every day. If you stop treatment, your hair will return to its pre-treatment growth pattern. Many of our customers have spoken of the following side effects that I feel you should be aware of:

1) an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives)
2) chest pain
3) irregular or very fast heartbeats
4) dizziness or lightheadedness; or

Using Rogaine is a pain. It takes long to dry, and when it finally dries it turns white looking like chalk powder. Then you have to be "married" to the product!!
