Response To White Itching Lips
by: Nanette from Skin-Remedies.com

Hello Jackie,

The lips, like the skin on the rest of the body, can experience dryness, itching and pain. There are many reasons why lips can become dry and cracked. It can be due to: weather conditions, illness, dehydration, constant licking, food or drink reaction, chemicals and dyes in lipsticks and lip balms.....to name a few.

Hydrocortisone creams will mask these symptoms but when discontinued, the body most often displays more severe symptoms than before. Furthermore, steroid creams can produce side effects that include: thinning of the skin, easy bruising, permanent dilation of certain blood vessels, burn marks on skin, liver and kidney damage and a weakened immune system. My recommendation is to seek only natural remedies to repair your lips.

I highly recommend using our FACE & NECK THERACREAM daily and include applying some on your lips. The skin on the lips have 7 layers just like the rest of the body and needs to be supplied a good amount of moisture daily to remain healthy and moist. Many of our customers place a small amount of this cream in an empty smaller container and carry this around, placing a little on the lips whenever needed.

As a dietary recommendation, water, taken internally, is important in keeping the skin (this includes lips) smooth and flexible. Also, a proper diet filled with fresh and wholesome foods is equally important.

Please keep me posted on your progress Jackie.

Warm Regards,
Nanette

Chelitis Exfoliativa
by: Liz

Nanette,

I have severe burning and inflammation of the lips along with intense peeling. The doctor prescribed a topical steroid (Halonate.) Symptoms improved slightly but when I stopped the treatment, boils broke out all over my face. He is now treating me with Altabax cream and Solodyn anitbiotic. I am so scared. I am 46 and have never had any of these issues before. I want to reiterate that the burning and inflammation are great. Is there a center that I can fly to? Thank you for any help.
Liz

Response To: Exfoliative Cheilitis
by: Nanette From Skin-Remedies.com

Hello Liz,

First, for our website viewers I will explain that Exfoliative Cheilitis is a condition of peeling, dry, cracked, flaking, chapped, itching, burning, inflamed, red and sore lips. You are seeing a very common occurrence when usage of steroid creams is stopped. It almost always produces a "rebound effect" of the very symptoms you are trying to get rid of! You mentioned that your doctor was treating you with certain drugs which I must go over with you so you can understand just how dangerous these are. Halonate steroid cream contains halobetasol propionate, which is a synthetic corticosteroid. All forms of steroids produce varying degrees of side effects which include: thinning and discoloration of the skin, easy bruising, permanent dilation of certain blood vessels, burn marks on skin, itchiness, perioral dermatitis, liver and kidney damage and a weakened immune system. Altabax is an antibacterial drug that can produce application site pain, erythematic (redness of the skin), contact dermatitis, diarrhea, nasopharyngitis, pruritus (burning itch), eczema, headache, and nausea. Solodyn is a tetracycline class antibiotic medicine that contains minocycline. Solodyn can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight and sunburn may result. Side effects include severe headache, dizziness, blurred vision, fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms, severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash, fever, confusion, severe upper stomach pain, nausea and vomiting, fast heart rate, loss of appetite, jaundice, easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness, swollen tongue, and trouble swallowing.

Here is what I recommend you use for your condition: First, what you wash with is so very important and I can't emphasize this enough. Most products are loaded with harsh, drying ingredients that strip the natural PH of your skin leaving it further vulnerable. Use our gentle and pure FACE & BODY WASH that will deeply cleanse your skin and begin repairing your skin even before you apply cream.

Next you will want to apply our FACE & NECK THERACREAM twice daily focusing the area around of the lips and extending to the surrounding areas. This hypo-allergenic cream penetrates all 7 layers of skin to repair dry, damaged cells and relieves inflammation and itching and restores much needed moisture from the bottom up to the very skin surface helping to restore balance. Both of these products are formulated with skin nurturing ingredients that repair, restore and replenish natural moisture levels in the skin.

You may also want to consider our INTESTINAL BOWEL CLEANSER for internal deep toxic and waste cleansing (including residual drug/medication accumulation that may be re-circulating in your blood stream) of the body as well as our GREEN POWERHOUSE for the highest level of nutrition available to strengthen your body, skin and immune system.
Please keep me posted on your progress Liz.
Warm Regards,
Nanette
