8 month old with eczema, reactions with other creams how will this d

My 8 month old has developed eczema on his face and various spots on his body. His doctor said to use an otc hydrocortisone cream but I'm leary of it. I used a bit for 2 days because no other creams were helping.....we tried aveeno lavender calming lotion, aquaphor, and Eucerin.... and in fact many caused a rash on his upper body/where I applied it. The hydrocortisone did clear it up but then the eczema returned. I'm not sure what to use for his eczema because of how sensitive his skin is.

Hello Dawn,

You are wise to be leery of hydrocortisone creams as they have a wide range of possible health risks that you can read about here: https://www.skin-remedies.com/hydrocortisone-cream.html. As far as the other commercial creams you mentioned, unfortunately most of them contain either mineral oil, petroleum or petrolatum. Petroleum is a crude oil found beneath the ground and refined to produce fuels including gasoline, kerosene, and diesel oil. When it is added to beauty products (primarily as a cheap filler), it makes that product comedogenic since it coats the skin and clogs the pores and does not, therefore allow moisture in. Because of this, petroleum can cause acne, irritation, dandruff and skin dryness. Mineral oil is a by product of making gasoline from petroleum and is equally bad for the skin. I would highly recommend first cleansing your baby with our All Over Face & Body Wash followed by an application of our Face & Neck TheraCream for his facial area and our My Daughter's Hand & Body TheraCream for the body area.....twice daily. We have 1000's of moms and dads around the globe who have had great success with these products for their own babies who have had anywhere from mild to severe skin conditions.

Please keep me posted on your son's progress Dawn.

Warm Regards,
Nanette
