Cradle Cap and Eczema

by Nani Foca
(Seattle WA)

Hello Nanette,

My 4 month old son has eczema on his face and legs and some on the body. He also had cradle cap since about a month old. It used to be just yellow crusty stuff, but now it began to get red and inflamed looking on one side. I purchased your products, body wash, shampoo and creams. I am wondering how often I should be shampooing his head as I don't wanna dry it out either, water seems to make it worse. Also should I lotion his head as well? Also how often to lotion his body?
The doctors offered me elidel and steroids, but I was dreading steroids use. Can you tell me how long I should stick to your products to see results?

Thanks so much,
Nani

Hello Nani,

I feel it is a very wise choice you made not to apply dangerous steroids on your 4 month old baby. Upon searching, I found that the risky side effects of Elidel include the following:

Abdominal or stomach pain
burning, itching, redness, skin rash, swelling, or soreness at the application site
chills
flu-like symptoms
cough producing mucus
diarrhea
difficulty with breathing or shortness of breath
dryness or soreness of the throat
earache or pain in the ear
fever
headache
itching
joint pain
loss of appetite
muscle aches and pains
nausea
redness
runny nose
shivering
sneezing
sweating
swelling
tenderness
tender, swollen glands in the neck
tightness in the chest
trouble with swallowing
trouble with sleeping
vomiting
wheezing

We have many customers from around the globe who, like you, have turned to natural products and have received great results with using our products on their children. Here are my recommendations: For your son's scalp, you can daily apply a light coat of the My Daughter's Hand & Body TheraCream that you purchased and wash his scalp with our Herbal Shampoo Treatment only 2 to 3 times per week. The washing will help to rinse off the dry cells as the cream and the shampoo add much needed moisture to the scalp. For the face and body areas you can bathe him at the time you wash his hair with our All Over Face & Body Wash followed by an application of our Face & Neck TheraCream for his facial area and My Daughter's Hand & Body TheraCream for his body area. I would recommend using the creams daily. Although our products work quite fast for most of our customers remember that every individual and every condition is unique and may require more time to respond.

Please keep me posted on your son's progress Nani.

Warm Regards,
Nanette
