by: Nanette From Skin-Remedies.com

Hello Jessica,

First let me say that what your mother is going through is one of the most challenging things today. I commend you for endeavoring to find a natural remedy to alleviate these new symptoms your mother is experiencing due to the chemotherapy.

I highly recommend the following natural products to repair and strengthen your mother's skin. First, what she washes with is so very important and I can't emphasize this enough. Many products on the market today are loaded with harsh, drying ingredients that strip the natural PH of the skin leaving it further vulnerable to the chemo treatments. I recommend our gentle and pure FACE & BODY WASH that will deeply cleanse and begin repairing her skin even before she applies cream.

Next, she will want to apply our FACE & NECK THERACREAM twice daily. This hypo-allergenic cream penetrates all 7 layers of skin to remove damaged cells, heal the raw patches and restore much needed moisture from the bottom up to the very skin surface. For the rest of the body such as arms, legs and torso, I would highly recommend our MY DAUGHTER'S HAND & BODY THERACREAM which will relieve the raw patches she is experiencing in those areas. Both of these creams are formulated with skin nurturing ingredients that repair, restore and replenish natural moisture levels in the skin.

Please keep me posted on your mother's progress Jessica and contact me anytime with any questions you may have!

Warm Regards,
Nanette

Dry Itchy Skin Around Mouth & Lips

by Maureen Conway
(Ireland)

I am 59 years old, I developed dry itchy skin around my mouth and lips about a year and a half ago have gone to dermatologist and have had various creams but to no avail. This has now developed to my forehead and it could appear anywhere in my face. What creams would you recommend? I never had a problem with my skin prior to this.

Maureen

Hello Maureen,

Dry, itchy skin around the mouth and lips is not uncommon and can certainly be very stressful as we "meet the world" on a daily basis. I suspect that the various creams from your dermatologist that you spoke of involved steroid creams and such. These creams produce harsh side effects and can very well be the cause of your symptoms spreading. These side effects include: thinning and discoloration of the skin, easy bruising, permanent dilation of certain blood vessels, burn marks on skin, itchiness, perioral dermatitis, liver and kidney damage and a weakened immune system. Not only this, but steroid use almost always produces a "rebound effect" of the very symptoms you are trying to get rid of. My recommendation is to first cleanse with our Face & Body Moisturizing Wash which is gentle and thorough and non irritating like most soaps and cleansers. Then, follow with an application of our Face & Neck TheraCream twice daily to provide your skin with the moisturizing and health building ingredients that it needs.

Please keep me posted on your progress Maureen.

Warm Regards,
Nanette

Violent Dermatitis Around My Eyes!!

by Sarah
(Bournemouth, England)

Hello from the U.K.

I wanted to write and tell you that after a year and a half of the most violent dermatitis around my eyes ( truly a blight to someone as vain as myself!!!) I had just about reached my wits end when one rainy afternoon I Googled 'dermatitis, eyes, cure' for about the hundreth time and your website popped up. I read about the Face & Neck TheraCream and thought, as I have done on a dozen occasions with other products, I will give this a try...... Two days ago the package arrived from across the pond and let me say that in two days my skin is clearer and healthier than it has been in months, please excuse the hyperbole, but it feels like a small miracle. So at the risk of repeating myself, THANK YOU !!!!!

Response To Dry Skin
by: Nanette from Skin-Remedies.com

Hello Charlotte,

Yes, dry skin can hurt but please don't despair as your skin will respond to the following treatment much like the body responds to natural foods!

I have two very natural and deep penetrating products that I highly recommend to you. Use them daily! First, what you wash with is so very important and I can't emphasize this enough. Many products on the market today are loaded with harsh, drying ingredients that strip the natural PH of your skin leaving it further vulnerable to the effects of sun, wind and environmental air. Use our gentle and pure FACE & BODY WASH that will deeply cleanse AND MOISTURIZE your skin even before you apply cream. This is an important feature since your cleanser should leave you with a plus moisture level and not a minus moisture level!

Next you will want to apply our FACE & NECK THERACREAM twice daily. This rich cream penetrates all 7 layers of skin to unpack dry, damaged cells and restore much needed moisture from the bottom up to the very skin surface. Further, our FACE & NECK THERACREAM will stop any itching and reduce the redness you are experiencing as it has anti-inflammatory properties. You will notice an immediate plumpness and fullness to your skin as balance begins to be restored. Both of these products are formulated with skin nurturing ingredients that repair, restore and replenish natural moisture levels in the skin.

Please keep me posted on your progress Charlotte as you begin your new regimen.

Warm Regards,
Nanette

Dry Cracked Red Burning Skin

by B.P.

I ordered your face and neck cream because I was having problems with the area under my eyes and I was amazed. For a couple of months I had been suffering with dry cracked red burning skin. The first time I put on your cream I was amazed. I could feel the relief right away. After 4 days most of the dry, red skin was gone and after a week it was pretty much back to normal. I usually don't buy things like this without someone telling me about it but I was so miserable I was ready to try anything. I would highly recommend this product. Thank you for the relief.

Rough Skin, Redness And Itchy On My Face.

by Mila Altura
(Saugus, CA, USA)

I got skin irritation from the facial wash I used almost a week ago. I have sensitive skin type. After I wash my face I put moisturizer or cream on because it makes it dry after I wash my face.
Now my face is itching and redness. To relieve this feeling I put milk and oatmeal as treatment. I considered hydrocortisone but as I read your website I am now aware of the side effects.

What is the best cure for this?

Thanks so much!

Response To Rough Skin, Redness And Itchy On My Face
by: Nanette from Skin-Remedies.com

Hello Mila,

It is not surprising to me that your skin became irritated from using a commercial face wash. So many of the ingredients contained in these products are harsh and even toxic to the skin, oftentimes drying the skin to the point of breakout, itching, redness or flaking. I am very glad that you have decided NOT to use hydrocortisone as side effects include: thinning of the skin, easy bruising, permanent dilation of certain blood vessels, burn marks on skin, liver and kidney damage and a weakened immune system.

I have two very natural and deep penetrating products that I highly recommend to you Mila. Use them daily! You already experienced that the "wrong" facial wash can strip the natural PH of your skin causing irritation and leaving it further vulnerable to the effects of sun, wind and environmental air. I recommend you use our gentle and pure FACE & BODY WASH that will deeply cleanse AND MOISTURIZE your skin even before you apply cream.

The natural ingredients will quickly reduce redness and inflammation as well as stop any itching. Both of these products are formulated with skin nurturing ingredients that repair, restore and replenish natural moisture levels in the skin.

Please keep me posted on your progress Mila as you begin your new regimen.

Dry, Round Patches On Neck And Face

Hello....
I begin by saying I have one round, dry spot on my chin. It spreads to a few areas on both sides of my neck and then a few spots on each cheek and each side above the chin line. I have had this before. Again, it may start at the corners of the nose and spread to different areas of the cheek. I am 55, exercise every day and take vitamin supplements. Water is an issue...I am working on that. It is my only beverage except for tea at times. I am taking a whole-food B supplement. Lack of sleep is also a factor because of my job. Working to improve that as well. I do receive monthly facials. At times, I can feel the heat erupt within. I am assuming hot flashes, however, I thought I was finished with menopause. I am thinking I should add Vitamin A since I take the Omega 3 supplement. Is there anything else? Thank you so much for your time, Nanette. Christine

Response to Dry, Round Patches On Neck And Face
by: Nanette from Skin-Remedies.com

Hello Christine,

There could be any number of reasons for your outbreak and I am wondering what you use on your dry spots, if anything, when they occur. Overall, it sounds like you are in the right direction with what you are doing presently but I would also like to offer some topical as well as internal remedies. From these, you can choose which of these you would like to begin with and as the body responds to these natural and health building products, you will see a remarkable difference in your skin condition as well as your overall health and well being.

Below are my recommendations of our products and how they will positively impact your condition and general health.

1) Wash your face and neck with a hypo-allergenic and gentle body wash which contains absolutely no chemicals or ingredients that can be toxic to the skin. Our FACE & BODY WASH will provide this type of purity and will begin the repair process.

2) Then apply our FACE & NECK THERACREAM which is a highly therapeutic face and neck cream that will quickly relieve the dry, patchy symptoms you are experiencing.

3) Take, twice daily, our INTESTINAL BOWEL CLEANSER (capsule or powder form) to remove impacted waste matter and toxic build up as well as assist in cleansing the liver and kidneys. This will greatly help balance your immune system as well.

4) Take several time per day, our GREEN POWERHOUSE (capsule form) to provide your body with the widest array of vitamins, minerals and enzymes needed by the body to repair and replenish. This formula also contains the highest amount of chlorophyll which further cleanses every cell, promotes healthy cell growth and development as well as help nourish and bring balance to your glands.

Please keep me posted Christine as you begin your regimen.

Warm Regards,
Nanette

Response to: Relying on Elocon
by: Nanette with Skin-Remedies.com

Hello Leah,

I am not sure how you came across Elocon for your personal usage as it is generally a prescribed medication. You should know that Elocon cream is a topical corticosteroid that works by reducing inflammatory reaction and is a prescription drug. It is actually recommended to NOT use Elocon cream on the face, or underarms, or groin area unless advised to do so by your health care provider and is also not recommended for use on normal skin. Elocon, and most steroid creams are really only meant to be used for very short periods of time and it is unfortunate that you were not aware of that and have used it for so many years. When any steroid cream is stopped there is always the possibility of a "rebound effect" to occur and that is where the skin becomes problematic with a variety of symptoms. Further, there are often side effects that can occur with steroid use such as: rash, hives, itching, acne, burning, cracking, irritation, or peeling as well as thinning of the skin or discoloration. I highly recommend first cleansing with our All Over Face & Body Wash as this is gentle yet thorough to begin soothing and moisturizing your skin followed by an application of our Face & Neck TheraCream twice daily. Patience and consistency will yield very good results as the skin has a great propensity to recover given the right health building ingredients.

Please keep me posted on your progress.

Response To Acanthosis Nigricans
by: Nanette from Skin-Remedies.com

Hi Veronica,

Good day and thank you for contacting me with your question. First let me say for our website viewers that acanthosis nigricans (AN) is a skin condition characterized by abnormally increased coloration (hyperpigmentation) and "velvety" thickening (hyperkeratosis) of the skin, particularly of skin fold regions, such as of the neck and groin and under the arms (axillae).

We have a number of customers that have experienced acanthosis nigricans and perhaps the first thing I would strongly recommend is staying away from steroids. These will only further discolor and harm the skin as well as weaken your immune system. Acanthosis nigricans usually stems from a systemic problem in the body but can also be a result of a number of other causes.

Pinpointing the exact cause can be challenging at best. I will offer you my complete recommendation: both internally and externally, however, you may choose which and where you wish to begin. I can tell you that these recommendations have quickly offered our customers amazing results in evening out the skin tone and eliminating the discoloration caused by this condition.

Here are my recommendations:

1) Take our INTESTINAL BOWEL CLEANSER (capsule or powder form), twice daily, to remove impacted waste matter and toxic build up as well as assist in cleansing the liver and kidneys. This will greatly help by building and strengthening your immune system.

2) Take our GREEN POWERHOUSE several times per day, to provide your body with the widest array of vitamins, minerals and enzymes needed by the body to repair and replenish. This formula also contains the highest amount of chlorophyll which further cleanses every cell as well as promotes healthy cell growth, functionality and development.

3) Wash only with a hypo-allergenic and gentle body wash which contains absolutely no chemicals or ingredients that can be toxic to the skin. Our FACE & BODY WASH will provide this type of purity and will help bring your skin in balance. Then apply our FACE & NECK THERACREAM which is a deep penetrating cream which will penetrate the 7 layers of skin and promote optimal functioning of the skin processes helping to restore your normal skin tones.

This is my complete recommendation for you Veronica. Please let me know if you have any other questions and keep me posted on your progress.

Warm Regards,
Nanette

Hydrocortisone Side Effects

by Sekou

My skin started peeling around the side of my nose and when I visited my doctor he gave me Fluconazle 200mg. Then I went to a Dermatologist who diagnosed me with having dermatitis and then he prescribed hydocortisone to me. These two medications did not do anything for me but instead they worsen my condition! The side effects caused burning, thinning facial skin, and skin discoloration. Please, I need help to get out of this situation.

Response To Hydrocortisone Side Effects
by: Nanette from Skin-Remedies.com

Hello Sekou,

It appears that these two drugs only exacerbated your condition and added levels of toxicity to your bloodstream. The side effects you spoke of are very typical of hydrocortisone cream as it does damage skin tissue and in your case, quite extensively.

You must know that the body has a built in capacity to rebuild and repair given the proper ingredients. Follow my recommendations Sekou and you will be on the road to restoring your facial skin to a healthy state and balance.

The two product I want you to use are our FACE & BODY WASH and our FACE & NECK THERACREAM. These are 2 excellent choices for the type of problem facial skin you are experiencing. They will thoroughly cleanse old, dry damaged cells, bacteria and environmental debris and old oil and then moisturize your skin 7 layers deep with the strong humectants contained in these products. As your skin is restored to a healthy balance you will notice that the skin tones will be restored as well as the proper consistency and thickness of the skin itself as you recover from the damage caused by the hydrocortisone cream.

You may also want to strongly consider some internal body care to rid your body of the toxicity of the drugs taken and applied. Internally you should start with our INTERNAL BOWEL CLEANSER as this will begin to clean your bodily systems from the inside out. Toxins accumulate in the bowels and begin to permeate the blood stream and cause many of the symptoms and maladies that exist today including the many skin problems. Next I recommend taking in high green nutrition such as what is found in our GREEN POWERHOUSE. It is the most potent and highly nutritive product on the planet. This will further help in the cleansing and restoration of the body and skin.

Expect great results Sekou and I look forward to hearing about your progress.

Warm Regards,
Nanette

Dry Skin On My Face

by Stacey
(Australia)

My name is Stacey,

I am 17 and live in Australia. I have oily skin and had acne since I was 12. Recently I had really dry skin on my chin, upper lip, sides of my face, next to my eyes, next to my nose, and even around my ears. Around my mouth and chin was the worst as it was peeling a lot and looked like I had a beard of flaky skin. I believe it was triggered by the weather and from using strong products on my face. I'm now using your Face & Neck TheraCream with 10% Urea and your All Over Face & Body Wash and my skin is looking better than I could ever remember! I am so relieved and I thank you for shipping them to me in Australia!! love and thanks!!

by: Nanette From Skin-Remedies.com

Hello,

You haven't mentioned whether the cream given you by your doctor was a steroid or hydroquinone type cream. The consumer MUST BE AWARE that hydroquinone has been under FDA investigation for discontinuation in OTC (over the counter) products because of possible cancer-causing activity in addition to severe and often permanent side effects they can cause. Steroid creams are also harmful and can damage your skin further as well as produce health problems. Steroid side effects include: thinning and discoloring of the skin, easy bruising, permanent dilation of certain blood vessels, burn marks on skin, liver and kidney damage and a weakened immune system.

I strongly recommend you wash only with a hypo-allergenic and gentle body wash which contains absolutely no chemicals or ingredients that can be toxic to the skin. Our FACE & BODY WASH will provide this type of purity and will help bring your skin in balance. Then apply our FACE & NECK THERACREAM which is a deep penetrating cream which will penetrate the 7 layers of skin and promote optimal functioning of the skin processes helping to repair the dry patches on your face as well as restore your normal skin tones.

Lower Face Is Itchy, Dry And Red

by Mrs Bains

Hi Nanette

I am 39 years old. I had good skin until I had my first child in July 2008. The skin problems did not start until Oct 2008. I got pregnant with my second child in January 2009 and ever since then have had regular periods where my lower face gets really itchy and goes red. My skin around that area is dry and looks wrinkly. Was using olay products until my skin problems started.

Can you recommend the best cleanser, toner and moisturizer please.

Would be grateful for your advice.

Response to Lower Face Is Itchy, Dry And Red
by: Nanette from Skin-Remedies.com

Hello Mrs. Bains,

Many things can affect the condition of our skin. Sometimes the hormone changes in pregnancy can play a large roll in how our skin performs. This can be exacerbated by the ingredients in any number of products we may be using.

You mentioned using Olay products until your skin problems started. Many products on the market claim to be "noncomedogenic" but clog the pores of the skin because they contain petroleum and it's by-products such as mineral oil which are used as cheap fillers. Mineral Oil is the by-product of making gasoline from petroleum and since we use so much gasoline, it makes mineral oil very cheap for companies, therefore it makes the perfect (yet toxic!)filler and serves well to increase the profit margins of the companies that use it in their creams. However, these fillers are highly detrimental for the skin, and the molecules are much too large to even penetrate the pores of the skin, so it sits on top of the skin suffocating the pores.

Unfortunately, most of the Olay products contain mineral oil high up in its list of ingredients. You may have been using this product for a few years, when you noticed that you were developing dry skin. This is a result of the body reaching its "threshold of tolerance" to the chemicals in that particular product. In other words, there is only so much toxicity a body can tolerate, hence the "reaction" to its ingredients.

Our products work in a completely different way. The skin actually has seven layers of skin, and our products penetrate through these seven layers of skin, to unpack any dry, oily, or damaged cells to repair and restore the balance that is lacking in the skin. They are able to this because they are all natural, with the right formulation of ingredients.

My recommendation for you Mrs. Bains is to keep it simple by using two of our deep penetrating products. The first is our FACE & BODY WASH which will leave your skin highly moisturized even before you apply any cream. Next, use twice daily, our FACE & NECK THERACREAM, applying a thin layer only. You will begin to feel the difference in your skin texture immediately as the cream penetrates the 7 layers of skin and adds much needed moisture.

Please keep me posted on your progress Mrs. Bains.

Warm Regards,
Nanette

Dry Sensitive Skin On My Face

by Maria V.
(MN)

Hi, I came upon your website on Google while I was looking for something to treat dry sensitive skin. It seems like putting ANYTHING on my face irritates it. I've gone to 2 dermatologists, and both have prescribed steroid creams. They seemed to work at first, but now they seem to irritate me too. I've tried Aveeno, Eucerin and Cetaphil but they only make my skin more red, itchy, and irritated. I had dry patches on my eyelids, cheeks, around my mouth, near my ears, and then on my neck too. I tried just not using anything, but that made my face feel even more dry and almost like it was burning. I used your Face & Body Wash followed by your Face & Neck TheraCream and my dryness went away "fast"....I'm thrilled and wanted to thank you personally!

Sigmacort Hydrocortisone

by Molly
(Australia)

I have been using Sigmacort Hydrocortisone 1% cream on my upper lip for years now as the skin there used to get very flaky and it was recommended by my doctor. As I have continued to use it every day to prevent flakiness the skin is now quite tough and wrinkled and if I don't use the cream on one day it gets extremely flaky. What should I do? I have also been using the same cream on my eye lid for about a month as it has been flaky too but I don't want the same problem happening again. I use QV products and lots of moisturizer but nothing works other than the hydrocortisone. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Response To Sigmacort Hydrocortisone
by: Nanette from Skin-Remedies.com

Hi Molly,

In the case of using steroid creams as was prescribed by your doctor, many times what starts out as a short term treatment ends up becoming a long time (in your case several years) dependency. The bad news is these strong chemicals can penetrate sensitive or thin skin, cause an allergic reaction, and dangerously flood your bloodstream. Hydrocortisone significantly increases the chances of a number of viruses to infect human blood cells and has even been known to cause blood poisoning. Further, steroid creams can thin the skin, cause easy bruising, permanently dilate certain blood vessels, leave burn marks on skin, result in liver and kidney damage and a weakened immune system. I am so sorry that you are now experiencing tough, wrinkled skin above your lip from hydrocortisone use and certainly my strong recommendation is to stop using it there as well as on your eyelid which is much thinner and even more delicate skin.

My strong recommendation for you Molly is to keep it simple by using two of our deep penetrating products. The first is our FACE & BODY WASH which will leave your skin highly moisturized even before you apply any cream. It is pure and gentle and will begin the repair process and add much needed moisture. Next, use twice daily, our FACE & NECK THERACREAM, applying a thin layer only. This fast working cream can penetrate all 7 layers of skin and will unpack dry, damaged cells and rebuild the moisture level to your skin to help it to return to a healthy and balanced state.

Molly, you mentioned that you apply lots of whatever moisturizer you are presently using and I have to tell you that it most likely contains mineral oil or some petroleum by product. Mineral oil is absolutely horrible for the skin, and the molecules are much too large to even penetrate the pores of the skin, so it sits on top of the skin not letting any moisture in (suffocating the skin like plastic wrap). This accounts for the need to "keep applying lots of cream"!

Remember, when a product is pure and natural and filled with wholesome ingredients that will truly feed your skin, it will penetrate quickly and begin repairing skin tissue immediately.

Please keep me posted on your progress Molly.

Warm Wishes,
Nanette

Steroid Use - Dry Skin Under Eyebrows

I have been taking Dexamethasone for 8 months to calm my adrenal glands and hormones down. I have been off of the steroid for 1 month. I take a multivitamin, vitamin d3 and biotin and am using Rogaine topical due to hair loss. I have been having dry skin under my eyebrows for months and months. I haven't used the hydrocortisone liquid for too long and have used it sparingly but won't anymore. I don't know if the steroids have exacerbated my dry skin. Previous to my hormonal problems my eyebrows were fine but now I cannot stop the dry skin from under my eyebrows and don't know what to do? Help if you can. Will the steroid effects wear off ever?

Response To: Steroid Use - Dry Skin Under Eyebrows
by: Nanette From Skin-Remedies.com

Hello,
It is a very wise decision you have made to go off of Dexamethasone after using it for 8 months. For our website viewers, I will explain that Dexamethasone is a potent synthetic member of the glucocorticoid class of steroid drugs. It acts as an immunosuppressant and is 20 to 30 times more potent than the naturally occurring hormone cortisol and 4 to 5 times more potent than prednisone. You should know that if dexamethasone is taken over a period of more than a few days, side-effects common to systemic glucocorticoids can occur which include: *stomach upset *diabetes *immunsuppressant action *irritability *osteoporosis *muscle atrophy *fatty liver degeneration *hypertension *glaucoma and cataract * dry scaly skin, acne, allergic dermatitis, impaired wound-healing, increased sweating, rash, thin fragile skin, thinning scalp hair

Very possibly the steroids have either caused or exacerbated your dry skin problem under your eyebrows. I have two very natural products that I highly recommend to you. Know that many products on the market are loaded with harsh, drying ingredients that strip the natural PH. Our FACE & BODY WASH will deeply cleanse and moisturize your skin removing old skin cells and debris. Next, apply our FACE & NECK THERACREAM twice daily while focusing on the dry skin under your eyebrows. This natural and enriched cream penetrates all 7 layers of skin to unpack dry, damaged cells and restore much needed moisture from the bottom up. Dry skin symptoms will dissipate as balance begins to be restored.

Internally, I recommend cleansing and high nutrition as this impacts our lives and health greatly! Take our INTESTINAL BOWEL CLEANSER which removes impacted waste matter and toxic build up as well as assist in cleansing the liver and kidneys while building the immune system as well. Follow with our GREEN POWERHOUSE which provides the body with the widest array of vitamins, minerals and enzymes needed by the body to repair and replenish and promotes healthy cell growth and development.

Finally, I must warn you about Rogaine! To maintain new hair growth, you MUST continue to use the drug Rogaine EVERY DAY for the rest of your life. If you stop treatment, your hair will return to its pre-treatment growth pattern. Side effects include: difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives, chest pain, irregular heartbeat, and dizziness.

As a natural method of rejuvenating the scalp I recommend the following: At night rub in our therapeutic DOUBLE STRENGTH THERACREAM into the scalp. It penetrates the thicker skin of the scalp deeper and faster and is rich with nutrients and will unpack any congested areas on your scalp. Allow the cream to absorb overnight into the 7 layers of scalp tissue. Next, wash your with our HERBAL SHAMPOO TREATMENT which will help your scalp regain a healthy balance and hair growth once again. Please keep me posted on your progress.
Warm Regards, Nanette

Dry Nose!

by Amanda
(Spokane, WA)

Hello Nanette,

Every three weeks or so my nose becomes so dry on the outside that it looks like lizard skin! It then begins to peel, and no cleanser, lotion, or exfoliator gets that dry, scale off. In order to make the layer of dry skin go away, I have to literally scrape it off with a pair of tweezers! I know it's very weird to do that and I cringe at what the long-term damage of my nose-skin will be (as I am only 22), but nothing else works, and I can't go walking in public with a layer of dry skin just hanging out on my face. I always drink plenty of water each day, use moisturizer, wash my face with a mild soap, lightly exfoliate (I use Clinique's 3 Step Skin care for dry skin), and stay out of the sun, but still have issues. Any better suggestions for me to try or get rid of the dry skin with?

Thank you,

Respone To: Fissures In Skin On Nose
by: Nanette From Skin-Remedies.com

Hello Karla,

While our FACE & NECK THERACREAM is specially formulated for the more delicate and thinner skin on the face, given the specifics of the skin on your nose and the background, you can use the DOUBLE STRENGTH THERACREAM. Apply just a light coat in the morning and at night until the skin begins to even out and balance is restored.

Please keep me posted on your progress Karla.

Fissures in skin on nose
by: Karla

Hi! Two years ago I had a small patch of skin on my nose lasered to even out a blemish (indent). Since then my nose has been a nightmare! It did not heal at all, and I have been receiving cortisone injections as the skin healed hard and with a bump (from hardened skin). It is now almost flat, but the area where it was lasered is always cracking and bleeding. I have to put so much vaseline on it. It will be okay for the day (sometimes) while I am at work, and then it will crack and bleed. It looks like hardened skin is embedded in the pores of my nose!! Can I use the stronger urea cream on my nose, or should I only order the face and neck one? Please help! Any suggestions or advice are welcome!

Response To Dry Nose!
by: Nanette from Skin-Remedies.com

Hello Amanda,

If you are experiencing dry skin on your nose every three weeks, it sounds like a systemic problem you may be having. Of course, only proper blood work and testing would confirm this. However, know that the body goes through cycles or has what is called, cyclical reactions, that will occur when there are either regular external influences or internal influences (such as food or drink). Further, I looked up the ingredients to the products you use and I am not sure you are aware of the number of chemicals that are in them. These too may contribute or exacerbate your dry skin problem.

My suggestions that I will share with you will include both internal as well as external recommendations in order to build health inside as well as outside. In addition to these, you will want to keep a journal of the foods you eat and any activity you engage in that might differ than the norm and watch for the onset of your symptoms.

1) Take our INTESTINAL BOWEL CLEANSER (capsule or powder form), twice daily, to remove impacted waste matter and toxic build up as well as assist in cleansing the liver and kidneys. This will greatly help by building and strengthening your immune system.

2) Take our GREEN POWERHOUSE, several times per day, to provide your body with the widest array of vitamins, minerals and enzymes needed by the body to repair and replenish. This formula also contains the highest amount of chlorophyll which further cleanses every cell as well as promotes healthy cell growth, functionality and development.

3) Wash only with a hypo-allergenic and gentle wash which contains absolutely no chemicals or ingredients that can be toxic to the skin. Our FACE & BODY WASH will provide this type of purity and will help bring your skin in balance. Then apply our FACE & NECK THERACREAM which is a deep penetrating cream which will penetrate the 7 layers of skin and promote optimal functioning of the skin processes.

This is my complete recommendation for you Amanda. Please let me know if you have any other questions and keep me posted on your progress.

Warm Regards,
Nanette

Dry, Rough, and Discolored Facial Skin Since I Took Penicillin.

I took penicillin for a dental infection. The infection went away and now my face is very dry, very rough, and pretty discolored.

I used to have very soft, supple, even skin. I'm 18 but I look like a 40 year old with a hard life.

I need help.

I wash with natural facial wash and use natural facial moisturizer. I think I need to use vitamin e oil, but I'm not sure.

Please help. I am very insecure about my skin.

by: Nanette From Skin-Remedies.com

Hello,

Please take hope as the body has the capability to recover and restore given the proper ingredients. Taking antibiotics can take its toll on the body as antibiotics such as penicillin are designed to destroy bacteria and hinder its growth. Originally, antibiotics were drugs known as antibiosis, which means "against life." Adverse side effects can range from fever and nausea to major allergic reactions including photodermatitis (which is a sensitivity to light which may result in swelling, a burning sensation, a red itchy rash sometimes resembling small blisters, and peeling of the skin. There may also be blotches of large to small areas where the itching may persist for long periods of time. In these areas an unsightly orange to brown tint may form, usually near or on the face).
One of the more common side-effects is diarrhea, resulting from the antibiotic's disrupting the normal balance of the intestinal flora.
Based on what you have told me, I will give you my strong recommendations both internally and externally, to help your skin and immune system resume a strong, healthy balance.

To restore and build your immune system, take our INTESTINAL BOWEL CLEANSER twice daily, to remove impacted waste matter and toxic build up as well as assist in cleansing the liver and kidneys. This will greatly help by building and strengthening your immune system.

To nurture you entire body, take our GREEN POWERHOUSE several time per day, to provide your body with the widest array of vitamins, minerals and enzymes needed by the body to repair and replenish. This formula also contains the highest amount of chlorophyll which further cleanses every cell as well as promotes healthy cell growth, functionality and development.

For your facial skin, know that what you wash with is so very important and I can't emphasize this enough. Many products on the market today are loaded with harsh, drying ingredients that strip the natural PH of your skin leaving it further vulnerable. I recommend our gentle and pure FACE & BODY WASH that will deeply cleanse and moisturize your skin even before you apply cream and begin the repair process.

Next, apply our FACE & NECK THERACREAM twice daily. This hypo-allergenic cream penetrates all 7 layers of skin to restore balance and much needed moisture from the bottom up to the very skin surface. Both of these products are formulated with skin nurturing ingredients that repair, restore and replenish natural moisture levels in the skin bringing back the soft supple feel to the skin.

Please keep me posted on your progress and remember that the body responds readily to natural ingredients.

Warm Regards.

I Am On A Mission Of Only Using Healthy Products!

by Susie B.
(USA)

It is with great excitement that I send you this email thanking you for the wonderful products on your website! Within THREE days, the rash that I had been battling with over a month, is now nearly completely vanished. About six weeks ago I noticed that a rash was developing around my mouth, due to allergies and contact dermatitis. Since I am on a mission of primarily using only healthy and organic products, I ruled out hydrocortozone and steroids (which was recommended to me).

In my quest to prove others wrong, I thankfully stumbled on to your website and found your Theracream product for face and neck. I couldn't wait to receive it! Upon the first usage that evening I immediately felt this wonderful soothing sensation. The next morning, I had ALREADY seen a difference to the rash. For the next three days I diligently applied the cream both in the morning and in the evening and I am proud to say that after only three days, my rash is nearly gone! What a wonderful and amazing product. And what a blessing to have gotten it on your website. Thank you very much and I am wholeheartedly recommending your products to other friends whom I know. p.s. I would have taken pictures for the before and after; however, my cell phone photo would not do it any justice.

Have a great day and thanks again!

My Face Itches, Is Broken Out And Hurts

I have been using steroid cream for 5 years that the dermatologist gave to me when my forehead broke out. He had me on it for 4 years then he took me off it. I've been a mess since then and I have been using over the counter steroid cream for a year because I itch so bad. My face is completely broken out and itches and hurts! No one knows what I should do. Do you have any suggestions? I really need help!

I have been using steroid (prescription) for at least 10 years. My skin on my face is a mess and I understand Jo's pain! I was researching today on the web and came across this site. I am desperate to get off the steroid creams... the small spot that I was initially treating years ago has now spread to my entire face and neck. I desperately need help. On top of this problem I either have developed rosacea or maybe just another side effect of all the cortisone cream I have used for so long. I don't know. But I'm tired of going to the dermatologist and just getting new prescriptions to use. I'm hopeful your products work for me too....thanks! :)

Hello Jo,

Unfortunately, what you are seeing is the "rebound effect" of post steroid cream use! This occurs when steroid cream usage is stopped and the symptoms of a person's condition returns and many times with even greater symptoms. Your skin needs natural, health building ingredients to help restore your skin from break outs, itching and the accompanying pain.

I highly recommend that you wash only with a hypo-allergenic and gentle wash which contains absolutely no chemicals or ingredients that can be toxic to the skin. Our FACE & BODY WASH will provide this type of purity and will help bring your skin in balance. Then apply our FACE & NECK THERACREAM which is a deep penetrating cream which will penetrate the 7 layers of skin and promote optimal functioning of the skin processes helping to restore your skin while stopping any itching and providing an anti bacterial protection as well.

Please keep me posted on your progress Jo.

Hello Vani,

There can be any number of reasons why your skin has suddenly developed excessively oily areas on your face. A change in diet, weather, stress, and hormone changes, to name a few, can adversely affect your skin. While these issues would need to be addressed separately, caring for your skin the right way is very important for the balance of your skin. I would highly recommend first cleansing with our All Over Face & Body Wash which is gentle yet thorough and will help wash away excess oils and debris, followed by an application of our Face & Neck TheraCream twice daily. Consistency is important along with the proper health building ingredients found in these two products will help to bring about balanced and healthier skin.

Please keep me posted on your progress Vani.

Super Dry Skin Trouble

I've always had a problem with dry skin but its worse during the winter. I have natural wood heat and during the winter it's brutal. I have tried everything on the market and it gets so bad I feel like using sandpaper to scratch! I even have to shave my beard and hair down completely to lotion up but it doesn't help. After shaving it's awful! No mater what cream I use I still have heat bumps and they itch. It's the worst in these spots but my whole body itches cause it's dry. Please help with any ideas.

Hello,

Winter months can truly wreak havoc on the skin, much of what you have described. It is important to keep the skin fully moisturized on a daily basis and everyday, we are surrounded by dry heat, then extreme winter cold air outside along with chilling winds whipping across our exposed facial skin. Most soaps that people cleanse with are loaded with harsh chemicals and destructive ingredients that dry out the skin and cause the natural PH of the skin to be disrupted and the skin ends up dry, itchy and out of control. My strong recommendation for both your facial skin and body is to first cleanse with our super moisturizing Face & Body Wash. Follow this with an application of our Face & Neck TheraCream for the facial area and our My Daughter's Hand & Body TheraCream for the body area, twice daily or as needed. Moisture will be replaced deep down and your skin will once again enjoy the balance it was meant to have.

Please keep me posted on your progress.

Nanette

Response To: Dry Sensitive Grainy Skin
by: Nanette From Skin-Remedies.com

Hello,

There can be a number of possible reasons why your skin has changed texture and is now dry, sensitive and grainy feeling. I would need more information from you to help determine the possible cause or causes. However, it does not surprise me that all the commercial products on the market, both inexpensive to expensive, HAVE NOT WORKED! I will tell you why! Most products on the market today contain mineral oil or other petroleum based ingredients and should be greatly avoided as they can actually increase the skin's dryness levels. These ingredients have NO usefulness to the skin nutritionally and in fact, the molecules are too large to even pass the pores of the skin so the cream just sits on top and literally suffocates these pores thereby causing further dryness and damage. Further, there are too many cheap chemicals that are placed in these products amidst one or two "good" ingredients and thus promote further irritation and skin conditions to the user.

I have two very natural and deep penetrating products that I highly recommend to you. Use them daily. First, what you wash with is so very important and I can't emphasize this enough. Most cleansers are loaded with harsh, drying ingredients that strip the natural PH of your skin leaving it further vulnerable to the effects of sun, wind and environmental air.

This hypo-allergenic cream penetrates all 7 layers of skin to unpack dry, damaged cells and restore much needed moisture from the bottom up to the very skin surface. The dry, sensitive, grainy symptoms will dissipate as balance begins to be restored. Both of these products are formulated with skin nurturing ingredients that repair, restore and replenish natural moisture levels in the skin.
Further, because collagen gives the skin its strength, durability, and smooth, plump appearance, it would be important for you to protect and promote collagen growth with COLLAGEN TYPE II supplementation.

Please keep me posted on your progress as you begin your new regimen.

Warm Regards,
Nanette

Red Itchy Patches On My Face

by Camilla B.

Dear Nanette,
I had read the multitudes of different letters from people searching for help and I was no different. The most consistent diagnosis I had was seborrheic dermatitis. It's been about 4 years since peri-menopause and menopause kicked in and I believe that was what started this all. I had red patches, some itchy, some not - around my hair line, between eyebrows, outside the edge of my nose and from the corner of my nose to the corners of my mouth and it seemed to continue to spread. The products that I had been given by the various dermatologists had ruined the skin barrier on my face and the skin tone became horribly uneven. In a few short years I had gone from being proud of my complexion to the nightmare where I try to cover my face with makeup to avoid embarrassment. I then began using your Face & Body Wash and your Face & Neck TheraCream and I can't believe how wonderful my skin became and in a short amount of time. I love these 2 products and will use them forever....thank you so much!

Hello Analia,

First, what you wash with is so very important and I can't emphasize this enough. Many products on the market today including doctor prescribed soaps are loaded with harsh, drying ingredients that strip the natural PH of your skin leaving it further vulnerable to the effects of sun, wind and environmental air.

Urea Cream - *Thank you!!*

by E
(England)

Hello, Nanette!

I just wanted to thank you for this HIGHLY informative page about all the wonderful benefits of Urea! I am currently suffering with eczema on both sides of my face - unbearable itching, red/inflamed skin that flakes a lot and looks terrible!

After using most paraffin-based creams as a moisturizer with little to no improvement whatsoever (the itching was just as unbearable, skin still red and just made my skin greasy!) I was recommended Urea by a Boots pharmacist.

I ended up purchasing a cream in which Urea is the main active ingredient (5.0% w/w) and now, after just 4 DAYS of using the cream as often as possible during the day, and before I go to bed, my skin is already showing signs of improvement and healing - I got rid of the dead skin that was flaking off, and there is clearly another layer of fresh epidermis to which I am continuing to apply the Urea cream), and although my skin itches, it is nowhere near as bad as it was, and although my skin is still red it is certainly less red than before!

I am now going to use a Urea-based facial cream for the rest of my life. It really is a 'miracle cure' for skin!

Thank you for your wonderful knowledge, and this wonderful page about Urea! X

Hypopigmentation Due to Hydrocortisone

by Mia
(Canada)

Dear Nanette,

My name is Mia. I'm 19 years old, female. A while ago I got this itchy, dry, rashy patch on both sides of my mouth and around my chin. I went to my doctor and she prescribed me Hydrocortisone 1%. I used it, and a now a few weeks later, I have these two light patches confined near the corner of my mouth. They are not completely white, seems like just the upper layers are. I recently read that hydrocortisone can discolor the skin. I have stopped it immediately. Please help me, what can I do to get rid of it? Is this discoloration permanent? Will I have to take it with me to the grave? I have stopped using everything and only use soft, chlorine free water to wash my skin. Please, please help me? Thank you so much..

Response To Hypo-Pigmentation Due To Hydrocortisone
by: Nanette from Skin-Remedies.com

Hi Mia,

Unfortunately, the side effect of hypo-pigmentation you are experiencing from using hydrocortisone cream is not uncommon. I truly wish that doctors would read off the (long) list of side effects that can result from using steroid creams. I am sure people would strongly consider using alternate, hopefully healthy, remedies.

Rest assured that the body has great capabilities to restore, repair and replenish given the proper ingredients. Natural, health building ingredients provide the skin with the components it needs to bring the skin layers back to a balanced state, including skin tone problems such as yours.

I recommend two of our products that will work synergistically to penetrate the 7 layers of skin and restore normal function to those areas around your mouth that you spoke of. First cleanse your face with our FACE & BODY MOISTURIZING WASH twice daily to remove daily environmental debris as well as dead cells and excess oils. Next, apply a light coat of our FACE & NECK THERACREAM twice daily after cleansing. This cream will penetrate the 7 layers of skin and restore and repair deep down from the bottom up. Both of these products are loaded with essential nutrients needed for skin repair and bring skin back to a healthy state.

Please keep me posted on your progress Mia and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Warm Regards,
Nanette

Eyebrow Trouble

by Abby

Hi my name is Abby over the last year I've noticed that my eyebrow hairs were falling out or rubbing off a lot easier and more frequent than before which had me concerned. I've been tested for both types of thyroid issues and I have neither. I went to my family doctor and she prescribed me clindamycin antibiotic gel 1% and said to apply to my eyebrows once a day in a thin layer on clean dry skin. I looked up the symptoms of this cream gel and I'm concerned. I did notice that the skin inside my brows is redder not dark but redder and has almost an acne type bumps that if I open them my hair comes out even with a gentle touch. My skin is also more oily since this has occurred. I'm leery about using the gel cream cuz I'm not sure if I really need this for what I have. I'm not sure what to do and I've tried using olive oil to stimulate hair growth which made skin more oily therefore causing more bumpy acne like skin. Please help? And the heads on the acne like bumps are hard and don't open or come off easily.

Hello Abby,

For our website viewers I will mention that Clindamycin gel is a topical antibiotic. It works by killing sensitive bacteria that cause acne on the skin surface. Side effects can include itching, burning, redness and darkening of the skin. As a natural alternative I would highly recommend first cleansing with our All Over Face & Body Wash followed by an application of our Face & Neck TheraCream twice daily. Patience and consistency will yield very rewarding results.

Please keep me posted on your progress Abby.

I cant leave the house looking like this please help!

by Carla
(Missouri)

Hi I am a 57 year old woman with a fair complexion. I over scrubbed my face a little with a complexion brush so it was a little red around my mouth area the next day so that night I applied hydrocortisone 1% cream(I had just bought) around my entire mouth where it was red right before bedtime. The next day it was still pink so that night I did it again. Big mistake I had a horrible case of perioral dermatitis all around that area. My doctor immediately put me on Minocycline 50mg caps twice daily and prednisone pills it helped to stop the horrific pain itching etc. so I could finally sleep again then a few days later, before I was even done with the prednisone pills, I woke up at 3 am in horrific pain with even more redness that had also moved to the area (periocular dermatitis) around my eyes.....they were swollen shut and I was crying in pain. It felt like someone poured acid on my face so my Dr. was kind enough to rush me in to the back door of her office to no one would the the monster I had become! I told her that according to all that I had read on the internet I have a classic but very bad case of perioral and periocular dermatitis..white ring around mouth and everything. I also had extreme wrinkling all around my mouth like a 90 year old. She said all of that will go away after this is cleared. I stopped the prednisone and continued the Minocycline and she added Erythromycin 2% gel topically as well as Erythromycin opthalmic ointment all around my eyes. I knew this was about all that could be done and according to everyone on the internet it would work....and it did but I am left with horrible deep wrinkling all around my mouth in the areas I applied the two doses of hydrocortisone cream. Ive been putting pure vitamin E oil on them and washing with super mild soap....no make-up (which I need very badly because of red veins on my face)and now a 90 year old's mouth. I have not gone out of the house in public or let any of my friends see me because I look so horrible......my question is....do you this think the urea or any other suggestions will help the damage the hydrocortisone cream has done? Or do I need to see a plastic surgeon as soon as I get rich (which is NOT going to happen) Please help,I am desperate! I know that stress can cause this dermatitis to all come back again and that makes me even more stressed. How is it that the companies that make hydrocortisone don't have to put a huge warning on the box that it should not be put on the face??? Please help! Thank you for listening.

You are so right that there should be more than adequate WARNINGS for steroid and hydrocortisone use given to patients and over the counter customers informing people like yourself (as well as small children and the aged seniors who may have weaker immune systems) of the horrific possible side effects of using these drugs. Using hydrocortisone cream on the face can be especially devastating as this skin is the THINNEST skin on the entire body (the upper and lower eyelids being thinner yet!) and as such can be terribly affected by steroid use. Discoloration, hypo pigmentation and thinning or wrinkled skin can and does result many times from using these harsh drugs. I have many, many customers who have shared before and after pictures with me showing me how our products have helped their skin return to a much more healthy state. You see, the body and skin truly do respond favorably to health building ingredients contained in our products that have just the right proportion and balance of nutritive and moisturizing ingredients. I would highly recommend first cleansing with our All Over Face & Body Wash followed by an application of our Face & Neck TheraCream twice daily. I am also going to highly recommend two of our Anti Aging products in light of the extreme damage done to your skin. At night apply our Supercharged Antioxidant Serum followed by our Advanced Hydrating Q10 Facial Cream. Remember that consistency will bring about the results you seek.

Please keep me posted on your progress Carla.

Warm Regards,
Nanette
